In this day in age staying connected to the people around
you is extremely important; and it’s even more important when talking about the
world of business. No matter what
industry a person is in they need to be able to communicate with their
coworkers effectively and efficiently.
The way that most people communicate now is by using their
smartphone. Companies that create apps
have seen this need for business professionals to stay connected and have
started making apps that help people communicate.
An app that
is really helping people stay connected is Addappt. This app automatically updates a person’s
contact information as soon as they update it.
For example if a coworker changes their email address for some reason
this app will automatically update their email address in your phone. This app is obviously very useful because outdated
information in the business world can cause a lot of problems and confusion.
An app that
is helping people stay informed is called Audio memos, this app allows a person
to record audio on their smartphone and easily send out the audio file in an
email or upload the file to dropbox.
This app is extremely useful because sales meetings, interviews, and
other important meetings can now be recorded and easily sent out to coworkers
who may not have been able to be there. This
gives companies the ability to make sure that everyone has all of the
information they need from important meetings even if they were out of town or
home sick.
Another app
that is getting people connected is the BlueJeans app. This app allows anyone
to video conference with anyone; no matter what system they are using weather
it be from a iphone or an Android device. This app is really
useful now because a lot of companies are now having offices overseas and they
need an easy way to communicate with them and what better way to do that then
video conference.
I really like the recommendations as a whole. I have to say though, that the audio memo app is really just a branded attempt at a function that can be done just as easily without the app. Most phones have audio recording applications installed from the factory and those recordings can be uploaded to dropbox or any other comparable cloud service.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it presents an interesting opportunity that many app designers have taken advantage of: presenting tasks in a more concise package that will get more use even if the ease of use increase is minimal. Might not work with audio memo, but has worked for a lot of other apps whose functions are basically grouping the functions of other apps.

I always wondered how the business world seemed to be so well organized. I always thought that it was managed by highly trained business professionals; and while part of this theory is true, it turns out that the key to a successful business is staying updated and connected!
ReplyDeleteThis kind of technology makes me glad i live in this generation. I probably have some relative who could tell me about a time where contact updates were done by pencil and eraser. I look forward to the day were there is an app for almost every function and also driver less cars. I know the driver less cars are kind of off topic, but i think they are really cool.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty cool app I must say. But is there any way that someone could hack into another person's phone and get all of their contacts and other information? It seems that their contacts are pretty open and available if the app can update your phone that easily.
ReplyDeleteit is nice to see app on every page you go or email but for people did not want, need or afford to buy thing, it become annoying.
